Friendly landlord and staff. Telephone: 01962 771252 Comments: Very good ale (local brews, changing quite often). Excellent choice of food, very good quality and fair value. Occasional themed nights can be worth a visit. One of my favourite Hampshire pubs. Andy Coshan, before 2003 Bum cakes!! Rick has sold the place. It's turned into a bit of a restaurant. Although, the food is good quality (with big portions but slightly elevated prices). Beer selection is somewhat less inspired than before (Moondance has gone, replaced by Old Speckled Hen). New staff are friendly. Didn't see any of the old regular locals though. Flashy lager pumps now too! :-( Andy Coshan, Oct 2003 Changed to be more like a restaurant than what it used to be like. But the food is still good, and not too expensive and they now have some new Hinton ales on. And they're still happy to be an event finish pub.
