02/05/2005: Summer Scatter Results
Summer Scatter results are now available.
Many thanks to all those who came out to enjoy the sun, it seems that everyone enjoyed themselves, so a successful day all round. Good to see a new name on the trophy, even if this was due to bad luck delaying the top crews - obviously better planning is needed to take possible delays into account!
Well done to all the Beginners for getting round and not giving up, we all know how hard it can be to solve the clues when you've not seen anything like it before, and I hope that you will all be back for more in October, to experience some proper night-time rallying!

14/04/2005: Funky Venue Changes
Due to an availability issue with original start/finish venue, the start and finish locations of the Funky Elephant have changed.
The new start location is Southampton Audi at 185/433 202½ in Chandlers Ford.
The new finish venue is the Ship in Bishops Sutton at 185/606½ 319¼ .
Signing on for marshals is from 1930 on Saturday 23rd April at Southampton Audi. Competitors will be advised of all changes and times in the finals sent to them in the week before the event.
Please come out and marshal if you cannot compete. All marshals that stay out all night will receive a free breakfast at the finish pub. |

This year, the Summer Scatter will be running on Sunday, 1st of May, Starting at 3pm from Broadlands Road Car Park, and finishing at 8pm in the Milbury's Pub, Beauworth.
The Summer Scatter is open to everybody, you do not need any previous experience!

15/06/2004: Young Motoring Writer 2004
Entrants should submit an article, no longer than 1000 words, on the subject of Road Safety, a topic high on the agendas of government, media and the motoring industry. The winner of each age category will have his/her article published in The Daily Telegraph Motoring Section and on the leading website motoring.telegraph.co.uk. In addition, the first prize winner will win a prize worth up to £1000 courtesy of Lex Vehicle Leasing, and a day at Sisley Kart School at Buckmore Park, with a practice session and an entry into a full-blown championship at the picturesque outdoor circuit that has been developed in recent years to offer some of the best facilities in the world.

The Funky Elephant needs marshals to run. Letters have been sent to previous marshals requesting their assistance, but unfortunately these seem to have been delayed by a postal strike. 01/03/2004: National Student Motorsport Champions
Wessex have retained the title of National Student Motorsport champions for the second year running. Nick Clarke and Andy Garrett were the overall winners, with the total score for Southampton being 40 points clear of Glasgow, the nearest competitors.

Menu choices are as follows:
Starter: Homemade Soup of the Day / Game au Poro Pate (with toast) / Crispy Goats Cheese (with salsa) / Flaked Salmon (with salad)
Main: Roast Turkey / Whole Stuffed Trout / Spinach, Ricotta & Chestnut Pithivier / Mushroom Tortellini Raphael / Steak in Red Wine
Pudding: Christmas Pud / Tiramisu / Vanilla Cheescake / Champagne Sorbet
Afters: Coffee & Mince Pies
The cost of the meal will be £20 including coach, and will be at the Red Shoot in Linwood |

If you want to marshall the Rally GB this year and aren't a qualified marshal, you need to attend the marshall training evening on Thurs 16th October. If you want to do this, please e-mail Andy and let him know asap! |

03/10/2003: Committee Changes
After Ed stepped down as president due to not being a student anymore, a couple of changes have been made to the committee. Chris Gage has returned to the role of president, while Nick Clarke has stepped up to replace Chris as secretary. |
